CNC Drilling, Milling, and Boring Composite Machining Center: The Core Multi-process Integrated Equipment for High-end Manufacturing
Industry News2025-04-07 11:53:20

CNC Boring and Milling Machines are composite, high-precision machining equipment integrating both boring and milling functions. They are widely used for the precision machining of components in fields such as aerospace, energy, shipbuilding, and construction machinery.

I. Core Classifications and Features

Horizontal CNC Boring and milling machine: Features a horizontally arranged spindle for easy chip evacuation. It specializes in machining complex box parts and deep-hole components, catering to multi-face integrated machining requirements.

Floor-type CNC Boring and Milling Machine: Adopts a single-column side-hung box layout. With a table load capacity of up to tens of tons, it is ideal for 5-sided machining of heavy-duty and super-large workpieces.

Coordinate CNC Boring and Milling Machine: Achieves micrometer-level positioning accuracy. It is specifically designed for ultra-precision machining of high-precision hole systems and precision datum surfaces.

Gantry-type CNC Boring and Milling Machine: Features an open double-column structure and a long-span travel design. It is perfectly suited for machining large-sized workpieces such as rail transit bogies and large flanges.

II. Key Technical Parameters

Positioning Accuracy: Mainstream models can achieve ±0.005mm/300mm, while high-end hydrostatic guideway models can reach an overall accuracy of 0.01mm.

Spindle Performance: Common spindle speeds range from 40 to 6,000 rpm, with main motor powers between 15 and 60 kW. Some heavy-duty models offer a boring bar torque of up to 5,000 Nm.

Travel Specifications: The X-axis travel covers a range of 1,500mm to 14,000mm, with customizable large-size machining ranges available upon request.

Rapid Traverse Rate: Standard models operate at 12~40 m/min, while high-speed models further enhance dynamic response efficiency.

III. Mainstream Application Scenarios

Machining heavy-duty energy equipment components, such as wind power gearboxes and steam turbine cylinders.

Mass production of construction machinery structural parts and rail transit components like high-speed rail bogies.

One-clamp, multi-process machining of complex workpieces, including large molds, precision box parts, and flange tube sheets.

IV. Common Faults and Troubleshooting Methods

Abnormal Spindle Speed: Prioritize checking the contact status of the motor power cables and the tension of the drive belts. Replace the motor windings if necessary.

Abnormal Axis Movement: Check the alarm information on the servo drive and inspect the ball screw and nut assembly for wear. Replace any failed components promptly.

Decreased Machining Accuracy: Clean debris from the guideways and replenish lubrication. Verify the tool wear; if it exceeds tolerances, restore the guideway accuracy.

Power Module Failure: Use a multimeter to check the circuit continuity and the module's output voltage. Replace the corresponding components in case of a short circuit or abnormal output.
